Veteran Actor Shashi Kapoor Dies at 79 After Prolonged Illness

Shashi Kapoor Indian Film actor and producer passed away in Mumbai on Monday after prolonged Illness. He was admitted In Kokilaben Hospital. The CEO of hospital confirmed his last breathed at 5: 20 pm. He had kidney problem since several years. He was doing dialysis for years.

He was not well for the past four weeks and admitted in Kokilaben Hospital for treatment. He also have some kind of chest infection. Shashi Kapoor have same problem in 2014 after his bypass surgery.

The funeral was held on Tuesday morning. He started his career in 1940s as a child actor after he made his bollywood debut in 1961 as the lead actor in the film Dharmputra. He acted in more than 150 movies including english language movies. He was born in Kolkata in 1938.

He got his award Padma Bhushan in 2011 and Dadasaheb Phalke in 2015. He acted many hit films like sharmilee, Aa Gale Lag Ja, Chor Machaye Shor, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Deewar and Kabhi Kabhi in 60s and 70s. Prithvi Theatre was established in November 1978 by Shashi Kapoor and his wife Jennifer Kendal in Mumbai. Shashi kapoor survived one Daughter Sanjana Kapoor and Two Sons, Kunal Kapoor and Karan Kapoor.
